Prison Ministry

At a recent training for volunteers for Texas prisons, a prison chaplain was quoted as saying “Before the Texas prison system allowed Christian volunteers to come to prisons, they had a recidivism rate of 84%. Since the inception of the volunteer program in Texas prisons that rate has dropped to 34%.”

Mountain River Ministries co-founder, Mark Houser, is an experienced praise and worship leader, song writer and preacher with a gift for ministering to prisoners.  Two to three times a month Mark and his team travel to area prisons where they lead services and bring souls to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
